The U.S. Government shutdown has entered its 41st day in what has been the longest shutdown in U.S. history. However, it appears closer to ending after 8 moderate democrats in the U.S. senate agreed to a short-term funding bill which passed on a 60-40 vote Sunday night. As part of the deal, Senate Republicans promised to hold a vote on extending tax credits for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act, set to expire at year-end.
