Navigating Entrepreneurship’s Challenging Seas

Comerica Bank led a conversation with business leaders and entrepreneurs at the South Florida Business Journal Publisher’s Dinner. The topic centered around unique challenges entrepreneurs and business leaders face in today’s market.

Universally, participants cited the impact of modern business barriers. Inflation, interest rates and enduring pandemic-related employee issues are challenges that continue to face America’s businesses. To overcome these challenges, leaders have to take a long-term approach to their company and succession planning.

Several prominent South Florida business leaders mentioned the importance of company culture. “Culture is a verb. You have to live it,” said Mark Alfieri, CEO of Brandstar, a Deerfield Beach-based production company, marketing agency, and content exchange platform. “You hire for attitude and energy because you want to bring that into the organization,” he added. “You always have to be working on it.”

These leaders also offered their insights on business growth, remote work, talent management and more. Running a business may not be easy, but with the right approach, leaders can navigate difficult situations and continue to grow.
