Bee Cups is shaping the future of art, ecology and entrepreneurship with support from Comerica
Jen Rose didn’t just start a business—she sparked a movement. As the founder of Bee Cups®, Jen blends ecological science, artistic innovation, and entrepreneurial mentorship to create handcrafted products that support pollinators and inspire community action.
A former ceramics and design professor, Jen launched Bee Cups during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020. Inspired by bees drinking rainwater from her porcelain sculptures, she engineered tiny porcelain watering stations with UV-reactive glazes that attract bees and butterflies—glazes invisible to humans but visible to pollinators. Today, Bee Cups offers watering stations, nesting tubes for native bees, and electrolyte tablets for bird baths—all made by hand in her West Dallas studio.
Bee Cups is more than a business—it’s a zero-waste, plastic-free, people-first studio committed to environmental sustainability and social impact. Jen’s team includes graduates and students from her alma mater, the University of North Texas. As a mentor, Jen empowers young artists to explore entrepreneurship, proving that creativity and commerce can coexist.
“When we outgrew the garage, I knew I needed to own my space,” Jen shares. “Comerica helped make that a reality.” With heavy equipment and specialized needs, renting wasn’t an option. Comerica believed in Jen’s mission and supported her expansion with tailored financing and personalized guidance. Her relationship manager became a trusted partner in growth. “I can call him anytime. He listens and helps me get what I need for my business.”
Jen’s story is a testament to the power of purpose-driven entrepreneurship. She’s not only helping pollinators survive—she’s helping young artists thrive. Her journey reflects a growing trend of women entrepreneurs who are building businesses rooted in sustainability, mentorship, and community.
Bee Cups may have started with a simple idea in a garden. Now, it’s a way to connect art, science, and people to make a real difference.
