When will the new partnership with Ameriprise take place?

Your new Comerica Financial Advisors experience powered by Ameriprise Financial is expected to take place November 2023.

What do I need to do to prepare for the conversion?

There are a few things you can do to prepare for your new Comerica Financial Advisors experience:

  • Look for future email communications and letters with important information. 
  • Contact your Financial Advisor with questions - they are the best resource
  • Check this FAQ page often

Will my Financial Advisor or Relationship Manager change?

Throughout and after this transition, your relationship with your Financial Advisor will remain the same, they will be in the same office continuing to provide the personalized service that you have come to know and expect. The same is true for any other relationships you may have with Comerica – your relationships, contacts and accounts will not change. If at any time you have questions, you can reach out to your Financial Advisor, as always, they are happy to help.

Who can I expect to send me account notifications and other important updates?

Leading up to the transition and after, you will receive communications from Comerica Financial Advisors, powered by Ameriprise Financial. You may also receive some communications from Ameriprise Financial.

Please take a moment to read through them when you receive them.


How will I receive my statement and what will it look like?

You’ll receive two month-end statements for November from both Pershing and Comerica Financial Advisors, powered by Ameriprise Financial. 

You’ll also receive year-end statements from both Pershing and Comerica Financial Advisors, powered by Ameriprise Financial.

My Accounts

How and when will my assets transfer to Ameriprise Financial?

The financial conversion for the on-platform assets will automatically transfer the weekend of November 4, 2023. The Financial Advisors and sales assistants will have access to your accounts beginning Monday, November 6, 2023 to continue to service you.

Please note: Any accounts held with an annuity carrier and/or mutual fund company direct typically take longer to process through a bulk broker-dealer change. Please reach out to your Financial Advisor if you have any questions.

Will my account numbers change?

Yes. While your account number will change, the structure of your relationship will remain the same. Your Financial Advisor or primary Comerica contact will be able to help explain your new account numbering should you have any questions.

Will this impact any of my other accounts with Comerica?

We don't expect any significant changes to your other Comerica accounts or relationships. If there are any future changes to your accounts you will be notified.

Client Secure Site

What is the client secure site?

The client secure site provides a consolidated view of Ameriprise Financial accounts and allows your to track progress toward your goals, view your portfolio and securely collaborate with your advisor. It offers access to online trading, including convenient market data snapshots, expert research, quotes and company information.

How do I sign up for the client secure site?

The week of Nov. 6, Ameriprise Financial will send you a "Welcome" email or letter that includes a link to register for the Secure Site. Once registered, you will see your assets in the Secure Site.

If you do not have an email on file with us yet, you will receive a welcome letter from Comerica Financial Advisors the week of November  6, 2023 with instructions for signing up for the secure site. 

For entity accounts, authorized parties will need to be validated prior to the registration email being sent. You can work directly with your Financial Advisor to do this. 

What safeguards are in place to keep my accounts safe and secure when using the secure site and mobile app?
