Terms of Use for Account Application Text Messaging

 

We may send you text messages to complete your account application. By providing your phone number and clicking “Continue” to continue the account application process, you agree to the following Terms of Use for Account Application Text Messaging (“Text Messaging Terms”):

  1. You agree that we may send text messages to the phone number you provided to assist us in opening your account, including sending you a text message containing a one-time activation code and a link to verify your identification (“Text Message Services”). You further agree that we may include the phone number you provided in our records and contact you at such number at any time about your account or other products and services we offer. You represent and warrant that you are the owner, or authorized user, of the mobile device you use to receive Text Message Services or to send text messages to us.
  2. If at any time you need assistance, you can contact us by texting the word "HELP" to 26211 or by sending us a message at ComericaCustomerContactCenter@comerica.com. In case of questions regarding these Text Messaging Terms, please contact Customer Service at 800.501.9652.
  3. To unsubscribe and stop receiving the Text Message Service, you may at any time text the word "STOP" to 26211, but by unsubscribing we may not be able to complete your application online. We reserve the right to send you a text message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed.
  4. Message and data rates may apply. Please contact your mobile carrier for information about your messaging and data plans and applicable rates. Additionally, your carrier may impose message or charge limitations on your account that are outside of our control. All charges are billed by and payable to your carrier.
  5. Text messaging is not always predictable. In some instances, text messages may be delayed or not received. Neither we nor any of our third-party processors nor any mobile carrier shall have any liability for any delayed or undelivered text message.
  6. Text messages from us will be presented on your mobile device in the same manner as any other text message. Third parties can send text messages disguised as alerts from us and, therefore, you are urged to independently verify the authenticity of any message that you receive. Messages from us will come from the number 26211. You agree to safeguard the mobile device you use to receive Text Messaging Services, including lock your mobile device with a password, if this is a feature on your device, and delete stored text messages to/from us. You agree to assume full responsibility for the security and confidentiality of your mobile device, phone number, and passwords.
  7. Data obtained from you in connection with text messaging may include your mobile phone number, your carrier's name, information about your mobile device, and the date, time, and content of your messages, and other information that you may provide (or may be provided) through your mobile device. You agree that we may use this information to open, administer, and maintain your account; to contact you; and as otherwise described in these Text Messaging Terms or allowed by the terms of our Privacy Notice available here: www.comerica.com/privacy. We reserve the right at all times to disclose any information received, gathered, or accessed through the Text Messaging Services, as necessary, to satisfy and comply with any laws, regulations, or governmental requests, subpoena or other legal process, or otherwise to avoid liability, or to protect our rights or property as we deem necessary. Your mobile carrier and other service providers may also collect data from your text usage, and their practices are governed by their own policies and procedures.
  8. These Text Messaging Terms shall apply to the account you open online in addition to all other terms and conditions to which such account may be subject including the Privacy Notice and the Deposit Account Contract and Fee brochure.
  9. For phones issued in the U.S., participating carriers include AT&T, Verizon Wireless, Sprint, T-Mobile, MetroPCS, U.S. Cellular, Alltel, Boost Mobile, Nextel, and Virgin Mobile. Minor carriers: Alaska Communications Systems (ACS), Appalachian Wireless (EKN), Bluegrass Cellular, Cellular One of East Central IL (ECIT), Cellular One of Northeast Pennsylvania, Cincinnati Bell Wireless, Cricket, Coral Wireless (Mobi PCS), COX, Cross, Element Mobile (Flat Wireless), Epic Touch (Elkhart Telephone), GCI, Golden State, Hawkeye (Chat Mobility), Hawkeye (NW Missouri), Illinois Valley Cellular, Inland Cellular, iWireless (Iowa Wireless), Keystone Wireless (Immix Wireless/PC Man), Mosaic (Consolidated or CTC Telecom), Nex-Tech Wireless, NTelos, Panhandle Communications, Pioneer, Plateau (Texas RSA 3 Ltd), Revol, RINA, Simmetry (TMP Corporation), Thumb Cellular, Union Wireless, United Wireless, Viaero Wireless, and West Central (WCC or 5 Star Wireless).
