Sunita Patel
President, TLS Division

Patel leads the Technology and Life Sciences Division (TLS), overseeing Comerica's TLS teams in California, Texas, Washington, Massachusetts, Virginia, New York, and Toronto. She has extensive experience in building relationships with venture capital firms and lending to venture backed early to late stage technology companies. Prior to Comerica, Patel joined Imperial Bank in 1997 and was a Senior Vice President in their Emerging Growth Division. Sunita began her career in technology banking at Silicon Valley Bank in 1992. Patel holds a B.S. in Economics and Finance from Missouri State University. She is a charter member of the Indus Entrepreneurs, a global entrepreneurship organization, and serves on the advisory board for The Forum for Women Entrepreneurs and The Women's Technology Cluster.

 

Mark Gilles
Senior Vice President and Group Manager, Equity Fund Services Group

Mark Gilles manages the Equity Fund Services Group, which provides depository and credit products to select venture capital and private equity firms throughout the United States and Canada. Mr. Gilles’ background combines extensive banking experience with over 10 years of direct investing experience with Tangent Growth Fund L.P., a San Francisco based private equity firm. This combination of experience gives Mr. Gilles a unique perspective of how to bring value to private equity and venture capital relationships in order to help them be more successful. Mr. Gilles volunteers with youth sports and Boy Scouts, and has served in leadership positions with Hope Rehabilitation Services, Vista Center, and the Menlo Park City School District.

 

 

Tim Klitch
Senior Vice President and Regional Managing Director

Mr. Klitch is both the president of Comerica Bank’s Austin market and managing director for the Texas Technology and Life Sciences group. His interest in early, middle and late stage financing for technology companies has aligned with his role in the Houston, Dallas/Fort Worth and Austin markets. He currently manages a Technology and Life Sciences staff that originates and manages credit and depository relationships with more than 100 technology companies, ranging from early-stage, venture-backed, pre-revenue start-ups to late-stage public companies with borrowing needs in excess of $50 million. The group also handles corporate retirement plans, securities investments and ancillary banking activities for its customers.

 

J.P. Michael
Senior Vice President and Regional Managing Director

As head of the Technology and Life Sciences Division in the Northwest and Canada, Mr. Michael is responsible for managing lending officers and support staff in Seattle and Toronto, as well as relationships with venture capital investors. Michael began his career with Deloitte & Touche as an auditor, moving on to Services Group of America, to Savia International and finally Trillium Corporation before joining Comerica Bank in 1998.

 

 

 

Chris Lloyd
Senior Vice President and Regional Managing Director

Mr. Lloyd is head of Comerica Bank’s Technology and Life Sciences Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Regions, which includes the Boston and New York markets. He is responsible for business development, managing relationships with venture capitalists, and leading a lending staff that provides debt financing and banking services to both early and late-stage technology and life sciences companies throughout the northeastern US. Prior to Comerica, Lloyd was a Vice President with Imperial Bank’s Emerging Growth Division, which he joined in 1997. Lloyd holds a BS in Finance from Brigham Young University and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
